Leo Varadkar To Become Ireland's Next Prime Minister
- London, Jun 2 Leo Varadkar, an Indian-origin doctor and Ireland‘s first openly gay minister, today won the leadership race for the ruling party to become the country’s youngest-ever and first homosexual Prime Minister-in-waiting. After entering Irish politics at the age of 22 and getting elected to the parliament at 27, 38-year-old Varadkar has also become one of the world’s youngest PM. Varadkar was not even born when Kenny, 66, was first elected as a member of parliament.
